What is on the USB drive that came with my laptop?

Drivers for reinstallation

The USB thumbdrive contains all device drivers and software packages (Apps, Control Center) for the respective laptop. Depending on the model and delivery date, it may also contain Quick Start Guides, Service Manuals and other software packages.

Do I have to install the drivers myself?

If the laptop was delivered with Windows pre-installed, using the USB stick is not neccessary, as we already installed all drivers on the system. The drivers on the USB drive are provided exclusively for fresh Windows installations.

Can I also use this USB drive for BIOS updates?

The supplied USB drive can also be used for BIOS updates via EFI shell. Please note that our USB drive usually has a capacity of 64 GB. For a BIOS update via EFI shell, the boot partition of the USB drive must not be larger than 32 GB and must be formatted with FAT32.

To repartition the USB drive, open the ‘Create and format hard disk partitions’ Program in the Windows Start menu. There you can delete the existing partition on the drive and then create a new, smaller partition.
