Alternative layouts such as Dvorak are also available.Combined or mixed layouts may include multiple languages or character sets on one single keyboard. For those mixed layouts, you can switch between languages in Windows using the Win+Space hotkey. The following table shows all currently available layouts plus a preview image for each one of them. The actual shape and size of the keys and the arrangement of the surrounding function keys depend on the respective laptop model.Almost all layouts are based on the ISO standard commonly used in Europe with the large Return and shorter left Shift key. The one exception is the US/ANSI layout, which is available as an optional layout in only a few models. As of 2025, ANSI is only offered as a configuration option in the XMG EVO series.Additional functionsOutside of the alphanumerical block, our keyboard layouts are generally consistent across the entire product range. Our goal is to ensure that all models are functionally complete and intuitive to use. Here is an overview: "Delete" and F1 to F12 are always available as primary functions, even on smaller laptops. "Print", "Insert", "Scroll Lock", and "Menu" are also always available but may be mapped as Fn functions depending on the laptop size. Keyboard backlighting is controlled via "Fn + Space bar". This key combination is easy to find even in complete darkness. Navigation keys (Home, End, PageUp, PageDown) are primary keys on larger models (15 inches and above) and can always be used on all model via "Fn + Arrow keys" - even on models that already have dedicated navigation keys. "Fn + Escape" activates FnLock for F1 to F12. FnLock is disabled by default so that the standard F-keys remain directly accessible. When enabling or disabling FnLock, the setting is retained (remembered) even after reboot or shutdown. During the early boot process, FnLock is ignored so that you can still access the BIOS setup via F2 key, even when FnLock is enabled. The media keys "Play/Pause", "Forward", and "Back" are located as Fn functions on three number keys below the F-key row. On keyboards where the power button is integrated directly into the keyboard, while the laptop is switched on, the button only responds when it is held down for one second. This prevents accidental input. Unlike other manufacturers, we have not replaced the Context Menu key or its function with a proprietary Copilot key (see article/survey). This functional structure ensures that keyboards can be used in a familiar and efficient way across all models, regardless of device size or layout variant.PRO TIP: To control the speaker and headphone volume, we recommend setting up a touchpad swipe gesture with three or four fingers. This eliminates the need to use the Fn key for this frequently used function.Custom layoutsCompletely individual, customized keyboard layouts for special requirements can be created. The price for creating such a custom layout is 79 € including 19% VAT. Please see the note about cancellation policy at the end of this paragraph. To implement your custom keyboard layout, we need a reference file from you - for example, a recognisable photo of an existing laptop or keyboard, or a precise layout description. If your desired layout is a derivative of an existing layout in our list, please specify which one exactly. This allows us to determine more quickly what changes are necessary and how your layout can best be implemented.Procedure: Select your desired model in the shop and choose either US International (ISO) or, if ANSI is available in your chosen model and you prefer it, US/ANSI as the base layout. Please do not select "German," even if your layout is based on the German version. This makes it easier for us to adjust the order later. During the checkout process, please indicate in the comment field that you would like a custom keyboard layout. If you already have a template or reference, you can explain or link it directly in the comment or send it to us by email after completing your order. After submitting your order, we will contact you to clarify all details. Once everything is confirmed, you will receive a separate payment request for the additional charge of 79 € (including VAT). We will then create the layout and send you a preview file by email. Once you have confirmed the layout, we will begin production. As individual layouts are custom-made, the estimated delivery time increases by approximately 1 to 2 weeks. The exact duration depends on how quickly the layout details can be clarified and how busy our graphics department is. We will inform you in advance if it takes longer than expected. Please note: When ordering a laptop with a personal, custom-made keyboard layout, the right of cancellation expires at the end of the production process (as soon as the keyboard layout has been printed on the otherwise finished laptop), before shipping. This is stated in the section following the sentence "The right to cancel does not exist for the following contracts" in our cancellation policy. In addition, our general Terms and Conditions and Warranty Policy apply.Further informationPlease also refer to the following FAQ articles: How does the key travel distance compare between the different laptop models?
